Our national day is enjoyed by locals and visitors alike with loads of fun activities. Here’s a guide to all the action on Canada Day.

Celebrate Canada’s birthday amidst the beautiful mountains of Canmore! Our national day is enjoyed by locals and visitors alike with loads of fun activities happening throughout the day. We’ve put together a guide to all the action on Canada Day.

Centennial Park

8am – Noon: Rotary Pancake Breakfast
9am – 11am: Canmore Nordic Ski Club’s Canada Day fun run
1pm – 5pm: Kids’ Zone – Bouncy castles, face painting, balloon art, juggling, drum circle, Velcro wall, TNT race games, and more.
1pm – 5pm: Food Booths – The Mad Dog Café & Market, The Chalet Concession, Kwality Ice Cream, Panago Pizza, KidSport, Van Houtte Coffee, Pachavega’s smoothie bike, Healthy Funky Foods, popcorn machine.

Stan Rogers Stage - Centennial Park

2:30pm: Welcome, Oh Canada!
2:45 – 3:30pm: Depayses francophone folk music performance
3:30 – 4:30pm: Suzie Q pop-rock performance
4:30 – 5:30pm: Doon Wilkins & Friends blues performance

Canada Day Parade - Downtown Canmore

12:00 PM - The parade begins at the corner of Fairholme Drive and 15th Street. Continuing down Fairholme Drive, the Parade turns left onto Main Street and finishes at the corner of Railway Avenue and Main Street.

Downtown Canmore

9am – 2pm: Mountain Made Canada Day Market. Come shop local at the Civic Centre plaza on 7th Avenue in Canmore. Over 25 vendors with a variety of goods including pottery, jewelry, books, clothing, art, treats and more.
7 – 9pm: Metal Cowboy musical performance at the Civic Centre Stage (7 Ave).

Iron Goat Pub

8pm-11pm: WIL Concert ($22 advance tickets)

Travel Alberta Information Centre

10am-4pm: Come celebrate Canada Day at the Travel Alberta Visitor Information Centre on Bow Valley Trail! Treat yourself to a slice of cake, enjoy some coffee and tea and take part in fun activities including crafts and a hockey shoot-out.


10:30pm - Canmore’s Canada Day fireworks are set off at Millennium Park at 10:30pm. While the fireworks can be viewed spectacularly from the park, they can also be seen from various locations throughout the town. Some exceptional viewing points include:

  • The Bow River
  • Top of the reservoir (above Grassi Lakes)
  • Benchlands Terrace walking trail
  • The Canmore Hoodoos
