Canmore Folk Music Festival
July 31 – August 2, 2010
Join us at the 33rd annual Canmore Folk Music Festival in Centennial Park featuring three days and three stages of folk/roots, blues and world beat from the likes of Buffy Sainte-Marie, Geoff Muldaur, Matt Anderson and more. The alcohol-free event features a myriad of activities for the kids including a climbing wall and animal petting zoo, a global artisan village and food vendor area. Tickets are available May 1 online or at the gate. Check out the free Friday night street dance on July 30 at the Civic Centre.

CAUSE Canmore Rocky Mountain Half Marathon, 10 km & 5 km Run/Walk

The course includes trails along the Bow River through Three Sisters Mountain Village and over the historic mine bridge offering stunning views of Canmore's majestic mountain backdrop. Quilt Festival and Tea

This exhibition celebrates the Mountain Cabin Quilters' Guild of Canmore. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children (7-14 years of age) and free for kids 6 and under. The show features a merchant mall, quilt raffle, door prizes, and presentations of donations to local charities.

Terry Fox Run
Mid-September
Be part of Terry’s legacy of hope in battling cancer. By participating in Canmore’s Terry Fox Run, you will help to raise funds to combat this disease- and you can enjoy a day in the mountains at the same time. Run lengths are from 1 km to 10 km including an Expectant Mother’s Walk, a Children’s Walk, a Puppy Walk and the 10 km run itself.
Festival of the Eagles
October 15 – 16, 2010
Become “enraptured”! Join all levels of birdwatchers in this autumn celebration of the ancient migration of the golden eagle along the Canadian Rockies. Share in the spirit of the eagle, take part in guided hikes, or listen as interpreters explain this ancient phenomenon.

Vic Lewis Band Festival

The beautiful Canadian Rockies come alive with the sound of music every November when the Vic Lewis International Band Festival strikes up the bands! The festival has earned a reputation as one of the best non-competitive music festivals in Alberta. Over 800 students in junior high and high school bands perform for adjudicators, participate in workshops, listen to faculty recitals and give public performances during the festival.
