From Canmore: Driving time to Banff town site is 20 minutes (23 kilometres/14 miles) west on Highway #1.

Driving time to Lake Louise is 1 hour (83 kilometres/52 miles) west via Highway #1. For a leisurely, more scenic route to Lake Louise, follow Highway #1 to the #1A Bow Valley Parkway exit 8 kilometres (5 miles) west of Banff.
