In
town, three courses await discovery: SilverTip, Stewart Creek, and the
Canmore Golf and Curling Club. SilverTip and Stewart Creek are championship
courses with gorgeous designs inspired by the natural surroundings.
Located
on opposite sides of the Bow Valley, each course offers a different view of
the mountains, and a different experience. SilverTip is known for providing
a naturally inspired mountain golf experience, and both SilverTip and
Stewart Creek have been rated among the best new Canadian courses by Golf
Digest.
The 18 holes of the Canmore Golf and Curling Club wind along the Bow River,
offering magnificent views of both sides of the valley. This course is a
pleasure to play.
20 minutes east of Canmore and only
50 minutes west of Calgary is the Brewsters Kananaskis Ranch Golf Resort,
Alberta's newest mountain golf course located where the foothills meet the
Rocky Mountains. A fun, affordable regulation course, great for the whole
family. Power carts, rentals and a licensed snack bar. Use the Seebe/Exshaw
exit off Highway 1.
Four
golf courses in one charming mountain community are bounty indeed, but
there's more. Only 20 minutes away is the world-renowned Banff Springs
Golf Course - 27 holes of golf tradition that's on most golfers' tick
lists. Less well-known, but just as compelling, are the two courses in Kananaskis Country only 40 minutes from Canmore. Mount Lorette and Mount
Kidd nestle along the Kananaskis River, offering challenging play under
soaring mountain peaks.
A
golf holiday here can mean six courses in six days. Hotels, B&Bs, or
vacation condos make it simple to settle into the mountain lifestyle.
There are countless other activities to enjoy once the round is over, and
a wealth of dining and shopping opportunities. The hardest part will be
packing up the clubs and heading home from this mountain golf paradise.
