Boundary Ranch-Kananaskis Trail Rides and Pack Trips

Located in the midst of the beautiful Kananaskis Valley, Boundary Ranch with its Western Entertainment Centre and restaurant provides the perfect venue to stage group activities for either a full day, half day or evening programs. Trail rides, pack trips and guided horseback riding in the Canadian Rockies are our specialty, and we also offer barbeques, rodeos, sleigh rides and much more. Come and experience a true Canadian Rockies ranch.

Folks are invited to visit the Ranch and experience our beautiful log and cedar Western Entertainment Centre. The Kiska Lodge offers a great spot for group events with huge log timbers reaching up to the skylights surrounding the hanging central fireplace. With patios and picnic areas adjacent to the activity areas, everyone has a chance to relax and enjoy or to join in the action! There's roping and log sawing, horsedrawn hay rides. You can view the buffalo in their paddock, take a trail ride, drop into our teepee for a look or spend some time in our well stocked gift shop featuring western paraphenalia and much more!

Boundary Ranch provides the perfect venue to stage group activities for either full day, half-day or evening programs. The Ranch is located on Hwy. 40 just five minutes south of the Kananaskis Village and is a 55-minute drive from Banff. Calgary is just one hour away.

Trail Rides and More!
We offer a wide variety of trail riding activities to suit every rider. Spend an hour, a day or a week at Boundary Ranch in Kananaskis Country enjoying our trails and activities. All trails travel the backcountry surrounding the Ranch and provide some great scenic shots as well as the opportunity of spotting deer, moose and elk!

From the Lodgepole Loop, a scenic one-hour ride to The Adventure Ride, a full-day ride with trail lunch, there is something for everyone. You can combine a ride with a great barbeque lunch - a great way to experience Kananaskis Country!

Kananaskis Adventure Ride
This full day ride leaves the Ranch at 10:00 am with the saddlebags packed with a delicious trail lunch. The morning is spent exploring the trail along the banks of the Evan-Thomas, cris-crossing the stream several times. The lunch stop finds you relaxing beside a mountain stream and gives all a chance to stretch and explore before setting off on the afternoon ride. The trails you travel will provide some great scenic views as well as the possibility of spotting goats, sheep, elk and deer. On your return to the Ranch, enjoy a cold drink on the patio and compare stories with your fellow adventurers. Minimum of four riders required.

White Water Rafting
Spend a morning or an afternoon rafting the whitewater of the Kananaskis River! Rafts travel about 12 kilometres through Class I-III rapids and fast moving water. Everyone joins in the fun and excitement as they paddle their way through the rapids and chutes of the river.

All necessary river equipment and safety gear is supplied along with professional riverguides, wetsuits, helmets, paddling jackets, trousers and rivershoes.

A fun filled way to spend a day in Kananaskis Country! Departure time from Boundary Ranch for the morning trip is 10:00 am, returning to the Ranch at approximately 1:45 pm. Afternoon trips depart at 1:30 pm with a return at 5:30 pm. Bring along your bathing suit and towel and be ready to have fun!
