On the Shore of the Bow River ~ On the Old
Trails Leading into the Canadian Rockies ~ 80 Years of Guest Ranching
Tradition
In 1923 Missy Bagley Brewster opened the Kananaskis Guest Ranch to
guests from around the world. She decided that the original Brewster
Family homestead located on the shores of the Bow River would be the
perfect location to continue a guest ranching tradition originally
started in Montana.
Today the setting is as it was, and guests can still experience the
family tradition of Western Hospitality. As in the 1920's guests enjoy
Horseback Rides along the Bow River and Overnight Pack Trips. Golf,
River Rafting, Hiking, Group Voyageur Canoe Trips, and Fishing
Excursions are now additional Guest Ranch activities. We also offer:
Wedding, Conference, Western Barbecue, and Rodeo Packages.
Kananaskis Guest Ranch is open July and August for Individual Guest
Bookings and June through September for groups of 15 or more people. The
Brewster Family welcomes you with warm, Western Hospitality!
Located only 45 minutes west of Calgary, the Kananaskis Guest Ranch is
perfect for retreats and get-away conferences. Quiet surroundings,
privacy, and an atmosphere that is truly engaging, provide Meeting
Groups with a relaxing, yet resourceful stay.
Our Meeting Facilities, on the Bow River, hold Groups of up to 50
members. For your Meeting, presentation aids from flipcharts to audio
visual equipment are included. Coffee Breaks and Luncheons are also
included as part of your conference package. Break-Out Rooms are
