Mahikan Trails is proud to deliver a unique experience for our guests to enjoy the freedom of being in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. With a combined experience of 60 plus years as guides our passion lies in introducing the world of natural wonders through excellence in guided walking and hiking trips. Come with us on a journey following the trail of the Wolf (Mahikan) and immerse yourself in the clean mountain air, and the sensational panorama we present before you!

For those desiring a unique experiential learning program, team building or other tailored programs specific for families, corporations and groups, we invite you to look at our suggestions and we are open to yours!

If you really want to see the Canadian Rockies then see them through the eyes of a local. Your guide will show you the secrets of the unknown areas of the Rockies by taking you "off the beaten path."

HALF AND FULL DAY HIKES
Whether your choice is to hike in the provincial parks: Kananaskis, Bow Valley, Spray Valley or Peter Lougheed or in any of the national parks: Banff, Jasper, Kootenay or Yoho we're ready to help make it the trip to remember. Your guides will educate you about the animals in this area, allowing you to feel comfortable and better able to focus on enjoying yourself. Be prepared to spend some quality time with us, we don't believe in the "Fast Food" approach; instead we focus on "Fine Guiding" experiences.

Mahikan Trails guides have a combined experience of over 60 years in guiding around the world as well as at home in the Rockies; ensuring our guests have access to the most proficient hiking and interpretive guides in the valley. In addition to exploring the wonders of the Rockies during your hike, our guide's uniqueness shines through as they add their own special touch for our guests; whether it's showing you traditional fire lighting skills at a picnic site or teaching you some practical skills such as the most comfortable way to walk up or down hill!

Our guides are highly qualified with certifications from Association of Canadian Mountain Guides, Advanced Wilderness First Aid, Canadian Association of Nordic Ski Instructors and many more found on our Who We Are page.

Experiential Learning Adventures in the Canadian Rockies
Unique people need unique experiences to enhance their vacation. Experiential learning is a distinct and inspirational approach to today's educated traveler!

Imagine a getaway where you can learn the hands-on skills our Native fore-fathers used such as fire lighting, shelter-building, crafting and rope making; while learning about the culture and gaining an understanding of Aboriginal people; and the night sleeping in an old-fashioned trapper's tent surrounded by the whispering trees & soaring peaks of the Rockies in Kananaskis Country. Return home with a variety of fascinating skills and the mental refreshment only such an experience in the outdoors can produce.

Sundance Lodges & Mahikan Trails are offering a number of enticing, hands on getaways for participants of all skill and fitness levels. Sundance provides the unique adventure accommodation nestled along the Kananaskis River, Mahikan the highly trained guides & instruction.
