Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary

Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary is dedicated to providing educational programs regarding wolves and wolfdogs in order to foster a greater understanding of the importance of preserving wild wolves in the natural environment, as well as promoting responsible wolfdog ownership. We are also dedicated to providing rescue and safe sanctuary to wolfdogs that have been neglected, abandoned, or otherwise displaced.

SANCTUARY TOURS

The Sanctuary Walk

An interpretive walk around the sanctuary allows visitors to see what the sanctuary is all about and view our various packs of wolfdogs. It is also a great opportunity to learn interesting facts about wolves and wolfdogs as well as explore the sanctuary at your own pace. As space is not limited no reservation is required, and drop-ins are welcome. Minimum age is 6 years old.

Intro Tours

In addition to the Sanctuary Walk, this tour provides an introduction to wolfdogs as guests are taken inside one of our enclosures and given a 30 minute presentation on wolfdogs behind a short barrier fence. There is not interaction with the animals on this tour. Guests can expect to learn general information on wolfdogs and our mission at the sanctuary. For photography enthusiasts this is a great opportunity to photograph the wolfdogs in a natural setting and capture their social interactions. No reservation is required, and drop-ins are welcome. Minimum age is 12 years old.

Interactive Tours

In addition to the Sanctuary Walk this tour allows visitors a unique hands-on experience with our ambassador wolfdogs. Enjoy learning first hand the key differences between wolves and dogs, as well as getting to know the pack’s distinctive personalities. For photography enthusiasts this is a great opportunity to photograph the wolfdogs in a natural setting and capture their social interactions. A reservation must be made as there is limited availability for this tour. Minimum age is 15 years old.
